Round 4 Game Reports

U/15 - Surrey Park v Caulfield

On Saturday we travelled to Caulfield Park to play Caulfield, we began the game with Jerry in goals as we waited for Ewan to arrive from the Under 13 game. Jerry stopped the first 5 shots on goal in a great display that was well supported by a strong defensive effort from the team.

The team kept the slick Caulfield outfit to 15 goals but alas while we had plenty of chances we failed to get on the score sheet.  The team all played well and showed great improvement in all areas of the game. It was frustrating not to get the elusive goal but it was not to be.

Once again we were well supported by Ewan, Harrison and Sarah who have now made major contributions each week for our team. It much appreciated by everyone, especially the regular players.

Well done to Lachlan and Connor who continue to improve in their first season of Lacrosse

This week we play Williamstown, at Willy which is always a tough assignment.

See you all on Thursday with a bag of Snakes to get you all fired up for a good night on the training track

U/15 Girls - Surrey Park v Eltham

UNDER  15 GIRLS RECORD THEIR FIRST WIN.

Our under 15 girls recorded their first win of the season against Eltham 10 – 8 in a good standard game. Eltham got the jump on the girls going 2-0 up before the girls scored however through some great play the girls brought it back even 4-4 at half time.

The girls pulled away in the second half with great attacking by Abbie that was supported by the midfield with Tayla and Amanda and Sarah in defence. For their second game together the  girls are combining well and should only improve as the season progresses.

U/13 - Surrey Park v Camberwell Magic

UNDER  13s PUT IN ANOTHER GREAT EFFORT.

The under 13s played Camberwell Magic in what was a high standard game. After being 6-4 down at half time and at three quarter time maintaining a two goal difference at 7-5 Camberwell drew away in the last quarter with the final scores being  11-6. The goals were shared amongst Hunter, Alice, James and Harrison. There were a number of shots that were unlucky not to score however every week there is improvement and a win will not be far away.

Coach Blair is happy with the progress to date but wants every player to follow his game plan and the success will come.

U/11 - Camberwell Sting v Surrey Park

The under 11s team played their first away game of the season at Dorothy Laver Reserve against Camberwell Sting. The weather was perfect for a wonderful game. It was a very good contest with a lot of the play in the midfield and almost equal possession by both teams. There was consistent goal scoring by both teams in all four quarters but the Camberwell side were just ahead by outscoring our team by 2 goals in the second quarter and 1 goal each in the third and fourth. The final scoreline read 10 - 6 in favour of Camberwell Sting.

Two new players Xander and Noah made their debuts for our side. It was an impressive start by them in their first ever matches and Xander notched up an assist while Noah performed goal keeping duties in the third quarter. Leo top-scored with 3 goals 2 assists closely followed by Renalda who had 1 goal and 3 assists. Leo also bagged the 3 votes from the opposition referee for the best player on our team. The team was coached by John Knox and Danny Whitbourn helped out with the refereeing duties. Thanks John and Danny!
