Fund raising: Sausages free to all iPlay players and $2.00 to all other family members

Dear Players & Families,

Thank you Parents,

My thanks go to the many parents who are helping out each week with the duties required to make iPlay Friday evenings a great place for your kids to not only learn and develop the skills associated with the great game of Lacrosse but also in creating an extremely warm and supportive community environment.

iPlay

Well we are into Week 4 of iPlay and the skill level is improving so much that we will only have one more week of the “one pass rule” and move to it to the “two pass rule”. The play is extremely quick and the new recruits are growing into terrific Lacrosse players. I think the school clinics have really unearthed some great talent this year.

In an effort to raise funds for the club we will be charging $2.00 for siblings of players for  a sausage and $2.00 for a drink at our BBQ after the games.  Players are still free. All funds will go to our Junior Program. Our first effort will be for Referees tops and new whistles

Under 12’s

This week the team plays Camberwell Sting at Dorothy Laver Reserve. Please be there at 9.00 am ready for the game to begin at 9.30 am

Last week the team had a great game at home against Eltham. Our team won 11 goals to 9. Dylan Ing continues to improve from week to week and is fast developing into the “Glue of the Team” linking Offence & Defence.

Under 14’s

This week we are at Home in Surrey strip for the first time this year. We start at 9.30 am but need to be at the ground about 8.30 am to set up and get ready for the game.

Last week the team had a pretty comfortable win over an undermanned but dogged Knox team. Our Surrey boys are providing great support and drive to their Moreland mates. The team is 3rd on the ladder and looking good for a top 4 spot this year.

Under 15 Girls

This week the girls play Chadstone at home in what is going to be a big day of Lacrosse for Surrey Park and in particular its Women’s teams.

Melissa Boubol our US import plays her first game in front of our home “crowd” in our senior team and is going to assist Hayley with the Under 15 Girls

Last week the girls had a titanic struggle against Williamstown going down in a final quarter flurry of goals 7 to 6
